The Johnstown Historical Society offers Cat's Meows for purchase by the public.
The Cat's Meows' company is woman-owned and was started in Wooster, Ohio in 1982. They continue to craft "little wooden buildings" of local, national, and international landmarks that spark memories and kindle smiles. |
They design and print the front of 3/4" thick wood with colorful details, and the back includes written facts about the building. Cat's Meow Village is so named because their black cat mascot, Casper, is hiding on every piece!
Some previously issued Cat's Meows are still available. The price is $15.00 each. There are also specials offered from time to time. |
“Herding Cats” by Terry A. Priest
It seemed a great idea many years ago to promote Johnstown for its many interesting histories and people. The Chamber of Commerce began what has now become quite an extensive collection of remembrances of local notables. There are many more houses and stores and sites yet to consider. For those of you are trying to see what you are missing, I have provided you with an inventory of what seems to be all the Johnstown Historical Society Cats Meows Some are retired, some have been redone, a few are still available from us or in antique stores and maybe online. The going price is about $15. The item is named and may have a construction date following it with its current location in town and where you might find it in the Pictorial History of Johnstown.
