About Us
The Johnstown Historical Society (JHS) is located in Licking County, Ohio. Meetings are held during the 2nd Monday of each month at 7 PM at the historic Township Hall at 1 South Main Street on the town square.
JHS has been in existence since 1963, the year of Johnstown's Sesquicentennial. The society also celebrated Johnstown's Bicentennial in 2013. The Johnstown Historical Society's purpose is to preserve, maintain, and restore anything of historical value, including building sites and memorabilia for the future of our children and community. This website is dedicated to the historical stories, events and images of Johnstown, Ohio. It will embrace the old with the new and maintain the pride and respect for the wonderful heritage this community has to offer its residents. The Johnstown Historical Society maintains a museum with the artifacts and memorabilia from the past. The museum is open by special appointment. Catalogued areas include business, churches, clothes, daily life, domestic chores, glass, entertainment, graduates, grooming, medicine, military, notables, organizations, politics, schools, special events, and tributes. |
